I started listening to Limp Bizkit around, well actually I don't remember when I started listening to Limp Bizkit. But I do remember that the first time I saw them was at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park when they were opening for The Deftones. I was a HUGE LIMP BIZKIT, KORN, DEFTONES, and TOOL fan and I still am. Anyway, one thing I can say about this band is that they really developed there act. They really came a long way since that show. Wes was wearing a blue mask with a pointy nose, Fred, I believe still wore that Red Hat. When I saw them at OZZFEST at the E-center in Camden they where great. I noticed them actually developing the Image that they have today. Even though I didn't have the greatest seat(lawn) I still had a great time. THEN when I saw them at NASSUA COLISEUM on OCTOBER 2nd 1999 They Just blew me AWAY!!! They where unbelievable. The way the sounded the stage set the effects, everything looked and felt as if these guys were on the top of the world. And if its one thing I can say about limp Bizkit that I noticed over these past couple of years is the They Show a HUGE amount of Fan Appreciation and that is probably why they have been Number 1 on my play list and millions of other peoples since I can remember. The whole show was great. I've been to big concerts before where the opening band really got no respect, people just came and went as the pleased but STAIND really caught peoples attention. They really had the Crowd Fixated on them. His voice reminds me of Maynard from TOOL.(I hope to GOD I spelled his name right because I worship TOOL)It gave me the chills! I listen to Hip/Hop also and Mob Deep featuring NAS really got the crowd Motivated, Run DMC's show was fun, Chemical brothers had a great show, awesome effect great music great lighting but its hard to get into music like that, don't get me wrong though they were excellent. Filter just tore the roof off the place. They kept the crowd moving from start to finish. They also did a good job of supplying us people in the front row with water. Trip Like I do with, with filter and Crystol Method was off the hook. Then when Limp Bizkit Finally came on, although my voice was going I still managed to scream like there was no tomorrow. They were worth the wait and then some. I was front row right on the rails. Right between where Wes sets up and Fred starts his show. I stayed fixated on them the whole time. There show was definitely a must see for anyone who likes limp Bizkit and hasn't seen them live. Its a whole different experience. They make you part of there show. And at the end of the show after devoting all my energy to them it was at the moment were Wes Looked at me and through me His pick that just completed my quest for the best concert of my life. Nothing could top that unless somehow I got to meet them, which will probably be next to impossible. Well that's it for my homage to see LIMP BIZKIT. Till next show. Nick |
